What we actually do

Japan Trim is not just a hardware supplier. We work as an external sourcing & BOM advisor for fashion and streetwear brands — specialising in zippers and metal trims (YKK and equivalent lines).

Most brands overpay for trims by 10–30% without realising it. Same look, same feel, same YKK — but the wrong factory, wrong line, or wrong specification. We help fix that.

Where we add value

• BOM optimisation. We audit your current bill of materials and identify where you overpay without any loss of brand perception.
• Alternative YKK lines. Same brand, different factories and product lines — often visually identical, significantly cheaper. Ideal for mass collections, second lines and diffusion.
• Cost-down, not quality-down. A typical zipper going from €3 to €1.80 at the same spec — the savings scale with volume.
• Speed & flexibility. Faster lead times and flexible MOQ. For many brands this matters more than headline price.
